THE RAT AND THE BURNT BEANS - PART THREE

Instead of finding its way of escape it began to eat the beans in the pot. The rat was enjoying itself in the real world while I was also enjoying myself in my dream world but trouble, big trouble was awaiting us.

The pot got hotter and hotter. When the rat realized that it was in hell it was too late! The water reached its boiling point (100°c) and began to boil. The rat died inside the pot and the boiling continued. I was still enjoying myself with fried rice and chicken and a chilled Maltina in my dream. As I finished eating, I cleaned my mouth with my handkerchief, push the plate to the waitress to take it away and rose up to go. The waitress approached me and asked: "your money?"
I bucked my belt back, took two tooth picks and put it into my mouth.
"How much is your money?" I asked.
"N500" she replied.

I dipped my hand in my left side pocket, hoping to find some money but didn't see any money. I did the same thing to my right and back pocket but found nothing. I became confused.

"I brought N2000 here!" I complained looking at the impatient waitress whom has taken a belligerent look.

"Don't waste my time. Give me my money abeg." She urged aggressively.
"Don't you understand? I said I can't find my N2000. Between N2000 and N500, which one is more?" I argued.

"You dey mad? Wetin concern me? I beg you make you come chop here or na me say make you lose your money? Don't waste my time! Give me my money!" she shouted.
"Ok. I'm sorry…" I attempted to plead.

"See I no wan hear that one. Wetin be sorry? When you dey command me, sha you no know say you no get money? If you no pay me my money, you no go go anywhere," she interrupted me sharply.

As we were arguing the rat and the beans were burning in the pot.
"Please… please…" I soliloquized as I gradually opened my eyes to the reality of what was happening to me. The place I rested my head was soaked with saliva from my mouth and cold sweat. I jumped up suddenly.

I didn't still believe I had been asleep. I used my palm to rub my face as if to see clearly. The whole of my body suddenly began to ooze out hot sweat. It was when I perceived the aroma of the burnt rat and beans that it dawned on me that I was in real big trouble. I ran to the kitchen. To my greatest surprise, I saw the only food I had to eat and the witch rat burnt and bringing out horrible smell!
I couldn't talk, faint or die. I just stood in sixes and sevens.

The End.
